The re-introduction of elk to Smoky Mountain NP in 2001 has been a great success to the park and its visitors.  These beautiful animals roam freely through the park and if you are fortunate you can catch them doing a crossing.  I have two from this shoot.  One with a young elk and this one with adults.  They are such beautiful animals it is a great pleasure to have them back.
