Chincoteague Island is on the coast of Virginia.  Famous for its wild horses it also is an active bird sanctuary.  Herons, egrets, ducks and seabirds inhabit the perfect salt and fresh water habitat.  I was lucky to catch this heron flying, with jut the tip of its wing sliding through the water making for a magical moment.
